Back to School for Elementary-Aged Children
Amid war, strikes, and conflict, our elementary-aged children started the new school on September 1st, marking an exciting beginning for our community. On the first morning, all the children proudly wore their required white T-shirts as they waited for the bus at the Moshav bus station. It was a true blessing to see 80 children and youth, all part of our community of Israeli believers, heading off to school together as one large group. They have completed about a month of studies before they have school vacation for the Fall Feasts. Wishing everyone a Shanah Tovah (A Happy New Year)!Exciting News from Yad Hashmona!
Our moshav continues to grow as we welcomed three beautiful new babies into the Yad Hashmona family! These precious little ones were born to fathers who have been serving in the IDF on reserve duty, bravely for months since the war began. We thank God for His protection and blessings over these families during such a challenging time. Our community is expanding, and we are grateful for each new life added!
Summer Camp Highlights in the Midst of War
While many of the traditional Messianic Summer Camps were either postponed or relocated due to the war in the north and Gaza, our teens stepped up in an incredible way! This summer, they ran a 3-day summer camp for the younger children of our moshav without the assistance of their parents or other adults. The teens handled everything, from cooking and cleaning to teaching and organizing sleeping arrangements. Their leadership, maturity, and dedication made the camp a success, bringing joy and a sense of normalcy despite the circumstances we are all facing. We are so proud of their efforts and the resilience of our community!
A Special Goodbye to the Women of Kibbutz Zikkim
Since the beginning of the war, we have had the opportunity to host evacuees affected by the October 7th attacks on communities near the Gaza Strip.
At the end of August, we held a heartfelt farewell evening for the women from Kibbutz Zikkim, who have been staying with us for over six months. During their stay, we built deep bonds that made their departure a bittersweet moment. The evening was filled with both tears and joy as they prepared to return to their kibbutz for the first time since the war.
We sang for them, prayed together, and blessed them with the Aaronic blessing, creating an unforgettable moment for all. The connections made during these months will remain in our hearts forever.
Any funds donated to Yad Hashmona will be allocated exclusively to war relief efforts: hosting the evacuees at Yad Hashmona, adding the needed bomb shelters, securing the path around the Moshav and continuing with our community service.
